Our story starts in 2018 when a question was raised in Meropi’s and George’s family:

How is it that for an item as traditional and old as soap, which is used multiples times per day to clean and care for our skin and for beauty purposes, we use commercial products such as soap or bath foams filled with chemicals and manmade instead of natural ingredients, with questionable effects on our skin and environment.

Could those chemical be replaced with organic extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil, organic shea butter, organic essential oils, clays, cucumber juice and many other natural ingredients? This way in addition to cleaning we can have all the benefits of those ingredients like moisturising, nourishment, protection etc.

These questions were strengthened by allergic reactions to commercial products by family members.

These thoughts were later adapted by the family of Vivi and Christos.

Having deep Chemistry roots in the family, as Meropi’s husband has a PhD in Chemistry, the first handmade soap recipes were created. Later on these were joined by the recipes for liquid soaps with natural ingredients.

The first products were widely accepted by extended family and friends of the two families and after 2020 with the support of an EU funding programme, Sirra Organics was established. The word "Sirra" in the company name comes from the original name of the city Serres during the Roman times (168 bc – 315 ad). The word "Organics" defines the organic character of our ingredients as they are the majority of the main ingredient type of our products.

The Company is based in Eptamili in Serres (3km outside of the city Serres) and is housed in a 350 square metres building, recently renovated and specially modified to comply with the legislative requirements. Beside the production and storing area there are labs for research and development and for quality control.

Greek inspiration and innovation merge together to create these novel natural products embedding the tradition of soap making into modern life. Our products are made from natural ingredients which are organic in their majority.

By putting the saying “when there is will there is a way” we resist the financial crisis and realise a difficult venture while introducing a variety of innovations.
